Since 2004, Karina has dedicated herself to yoga, from simple practice, exploration, and studies, to wholehearted passion, devotion, and research. To further speak to herself through her body, Karina had decided to continue her life with yoga, by being a well practiced student and instructor.
In 2016, she followed professional mentors to India, the origin of yoga, to learn and develop her skills. For her personal development, she worked hard to earn the “Taiwan Daxin Yoga Comprehensive Rehabilitation Training” Certificate, which just made her love yoga more. She continued to work hard and earned 3 more certificates from the RYS 200 YACEP Yoga Alliance, one for 200 hours of Foundation Yoga Teacher Training, one for 36 hours of Yin Yoga and Nidra Teacher Training and one for 50 hours of Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training; all in Canada.
She believes that yoga is about self-exploration and listening to your body. It is about finding oneself's balance and connection, and it is beneficial both mentally and physically. She hopes to share her practice and experience with others, in order for more people to see the impact of yoga on one's lives.

Yoga has been part of my life for the last 20 years. I have fully immersed myself and made it more of a regular practice in the last 10 years. Yoga has been my savior in a lot of ways, using my breath and moving my body has helped me embrace and let go of life’s challenges. I truly believe yoga helps us all let go of the debris from life that our bodies hold onto. I am always learning and expanding this is what yoga has taught me: To be a student of life.
I am a lover of strength and challenge with a creative twist. Teaching yoga truly warms my heart. Hope to see you on the mat!
I am a father to two beautiful children along with my gorgeous partner Kristal. As a family, we have run Queen City SUP for the past 5 years, enjoy hanging out on the beach and generally lead a simple happy life.
My approach to teaching yoga is built around both my experiences teaching people and my own understandings of the practice. I hope to aid you in finding personal growth. Besides yoga, I also have taught many hours as both a SUP Instructor and NCCP Basketball Coach.
When circumstances presented themselves that made it clear that teaching yoga would be my path, I was all to excited and prepared for the journey. My teachers Sarah and Colin at Bodhi Tree Teacher College have led me to my own discoveries in many aspects of my personal yoga practice. With studies in philosophy, meditation, anatomy, alignment, and community, I completed my Teacher Training in 2018.
I began practicing yoga in 2014, and after one class, I was instantly hooked. I began a regular practice right away. In 2017 I found myself wanting to expand my practice and so I completed Oranj Fitness 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training in Fort McMurray. With training in Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Yin, and Restorative Yoga, I enjoy helping people find the right practice for them!
I believe in creating a space for yoga that is lighthearted and accessible for anyone striving to improve their quality of life.
In the mid of my early teaching career, I came from Beijing, China to pursue my graduate studies in education. In 1999, I accomplished my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the Faculty of Education, University of Regina. Yoga, Meditation, and Tai Chi deepened my understanding of education through my personal journey of healing, embracing and transforming. With my 12 years of combined teaching and learning in the three domains, I am passionate to offer you mindful approaches to achieve your internal and external Yin-Yan balance.
